Dr. Lewis received his MD degree from Wayne State School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at University Hospital in Cincinnati. His career interests focus on improving the outlook for geriatric populations through involvement in clinical medicine, research, and teaching. After completing his residency in internal medicine, Dr. Lewis completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He joined the faculty of the UC Department of Internal Medicine in 2002. In addition to his clinical practice, as a member of the Faculty Hospitalist service at University Hospital, and he is actively involved in medical student, resident, and geriatric fellow education. He also assists in staffing the Geriatric Inpatient Consultation Service at University Hospital. Besides his teaching activities, he is pursuing training in clinical effectiveness research methods at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) Summer Program in Clinical Effectiveness and is involved in research at the Center for Clinical Effectiveness at the University of Cincinnati's Institute for the Study of Health. His research interests include geriatric medicine, sensory impairment, epidemiology, and clinical effectiveness.
