Dr. Guo received MS and PhD degrees from Auburn Unversity in 1994 and 1996, following a BS in Pharmacy from the China Pharmaceutical University in 1983. Prior to coming to the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Guo worked at the United States Pharmacopeia (Rockville, MD), at the Degge Group Ltd. (Arlington, VA), and at the China Food & Drug Administration. He has extensive project experience in the Ohio and Alabama Medicaid drug utilization review, drug pricing, pharmacoepidemiologic research, US Pharmacopeia drug information, and the USP Medication Error Report System (MedMARx{174}). He has been a principal investigator or co-investigator for numerous research projects in drug safety studies, post-marketing surveillance, child health, health economics, and other outcomes research. He has over 40 published peer-review research papers, textbook chapters, book reviews, and over 100 academic presentations.

Dr. Guo's research interested currently include drug utilization review, pharmacovigilance assessment (such as antipsychotics induced diabetes, cisapride contraindication, hepatotoxicity, acute pancreatitis associated with antiretrovirals), pharmacoeconomic evaluations, drug pricing, drug costs, drug policy, health economics, school-aged children health assessment, and outcomes research. Dr. Guo is Chair-Elect for ISPOR Asian Consortium. He received presentation awards for ECNP 2005, ISPOR 2003, ISPE 2000.
