She worked in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville before joining the UC faculty in 1995. Dr. Bernard's expertise lies in the areas of health program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Dr. Bernard is the author of a variety of articles in the health field and her primary research interests include HIV/AIDS Prevention, Fibromyalgia, Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, and Women's Health Issues.
