Cinci Science-on-Wheels

Cinci Science-on-Wheels is a mobile laboratory funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and operated by the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in collaboration with Cincinnati Public Schools and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

CSOW travels to local Cincinnati Public Schools to introduce young minds to the exciting world of science through hands-on activities. It is staffed by undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students who have been instrumental in the success of the University’s educational programs.

The primary purpose of CSOW is to provide 3rd through 6th grade students with an opportunity to perform lab experiments with the aid of technology and materials in a safe, controlled environment.

The intention of the mobile science lab is to excite students and teachers about the field of science, to encourage students to consider science as a possible career option, and perform science lab activities and methods that are not typically available in school.

Learning Modules

All CSOW learning modules are aligned to Ohio State Standards and have been reviewed and evaluated by a committee of CSOW Advisory Board members and Cincinnati Public School teachers.

Scheduling a Visit to your School

CSOW does not charge a fee to visit a school.If you are a principal, administrator or teacher interested in having the CSOW visit your school, please download and read the entire Teacher Packet to ensure that your school is able to meet the minimum requirements for a CSOW visit. The Teacher Packet includes:
